Cubitron Abrasive Belts
Anyone who professionally grinds skis knows the problem: grinding belts that become dull after only a few uses, uneven grind patterns, and too much heat on the base. The solution is Cubitron – and at Heba-Sport-Tec, they are available in grits 80, 100, and 120 in various lengths.
—
A perfectly ground ski base doesn't start on the slopes – it starts in the workshop. And that's where the sanding belt makes the difference. Once you've worked with Cubitron, you won't go back to conventional sanding belts. The reason: the technology behind it is fundamentally different.
—
## What is behind Cubitron technology?
Conventional abrasive belts use irregularly shaped abrasive grains that furrow the material rather than cut it. This generates heat, leaves an uneven finish, and the grains quickly become dull.
The Cubitron abrasive belts are characterized by precisely triangularly shaped and uniformly vertically arranged abrasive grains. These remove material like small knives and sharpen themselves in the process.
The result: less heat on the ski base, a more even finish, and a significantly longer belt life. Thanks to patented Cubitron technology, the grinding process achieves an extremely fast cut—with up to 40% time savings and a service life two to seven times longer than other products.
For ski service, this means: more ski grinding, fewer base repairs, better results.

## The right grit for every step
At Heba-Sport-Tec, we carry Cubitron grinding belts in three grits – tailored to the different steps in ski servicing:
### 80-grit – Pre-sanding and surface repair
The coarsest of the three grits. Ideal for the first pass after significant base damage, for flat grinding old or heavily damaged bases, and for creating the base structure in professional stone grinding. Grit 80 removes material quickly and efficiently – without overheating the base.
### Grit 100 – All-purpose for daily ski maintenance
The most used grit in daily service. Grit 100 is suitable for regular maintenance grinding, shapes the base and optimally prepares it for fine grinding. Those who grind multiple skis daily – whether in club service or in a retail store – most often reach for the 100.
### 120-grit – Fine sanding and surface preparation
The finest grit for the final polish. Grit 120 smooths the surface, removes scratches from pre-grinding, and optimally prepares the base for subsequent waxing. The 120 grit is indispensable, especially for competition skis where a uniform structure is crucial.

## Various lengths for each machine
Not every belt sander is the same – that's why we offer Cubitron belts in different lengths. Whether for a benchtop machine, a standalone unit, or a professional belt sander for workshop operations – you'll find the right format at Heba-Sport-Tec.
**Important:** Before ordering, please check your machine documentation to determine the required tape length and width for your device. We are happy to assist you with any questions.
—
## When should you replace the sanding belt?
Even a Cubitron doesn't last forever. These signs show it's time for a new disc:
– **Uneven Grinding** – Grooves or waves in the coating after grinding
– **The topping gets too warm** – Discoloration or soft spots after grinding
– Grinding speed decreases – more pressure needed for the same result
Visible wear – torn grains or cracks in the belt
Thanks to Cubitron technology, this occurs much later than with conventional belts – but the time will come. A fresh belt is immediately noticeable in the grinding pattern.
—
## Cubitron Compared – Is It Worth the Investment?
Cubitron abrasive belts cost a bit more than standard products. But the math quickly adds up:
| | Standard Abrasive Belt | Cubitron |
|—|—|—|
| **Lifespan** | Short | 2–7x longer |
| **Grind pattern** | Uneven | Consistently precise |
| **Heat Development** | High | Low |
| **Time Commitment** | More Tape Changes | Fewer Interruptions |
| **Result on Surface** | Sufficient | Professional |
Anyone who calculates will quickly realize: Fewer tape changes, faster work, and better results more than make up for the extra cost.
